The Midget Manor is a notable piece of mid-century toy history, specifically known for being one of the smallest tin lithographed dollhouses ever produced. Manufactured by the Ohio Art Company (the same makers of the Etch A Sketch), it was primarily available between 1949 and 1951.

Physical Specifications
The house is celebrated for its incredibly small "midget" scale, making it much smaller than the standard 1:12 or even 1:16 scales typical of that era.

Dimensions: The house itself measures approximately 6" wide, 2" deep, and 5" tall.

Base: It sits on a tin lithographed base (measuring roughly 8¼" x 3") that features a printed yard and side patio.

Material: The structure is made of thin, lithographed tin with vibrant, detailed graphics typical of Ohio Art’s post-war production.

Interior and Layout
Despite its tiny footprint, the house features a multi-room layout lithographed directly onto the interior walls:

Rooms: It typically depicts a kitchen, living room, and two small bedrooms.

Graphics: The interior "wallpaper" and flooring are detailed with 1940s-style decor, including fireplaces, kitchen cabinetry, and window treatments.

Furniture and Accessories
The Midget Manor was originally sold as a set, often advertised with 28 pieces of plastic furniture.

The Furniture: The original pieces were tiny, molded plastic miniatures. Because of their scale, they are very easily lost, and finding a complete set today is rare.

Scale Comparison: The furniture is often compared to Tootsietoy Midgets (metal furniture from the 1920s-30s), which are approximately the same size and are frequently used by collectors as high-quality replacements.

Specific Pieces: Original plastic sets included a tiny piano (about 1" long), a sofa (1¼" wide), a bathtub, and various chairs and tables.

Collector's Notes
Rarity: While Ohio Art produced many larger tin houses, the Midget Manor is considered "rare" due to its short production window and the fragility of the tiny plastic furniture.

Identification: Look for the Ohio Art logo on the tin lithography. Be aware that many Midget Manors found today are "shell only" or contain mixed furniture from other manufacturers like Renwal or Ideal, though most standard-scale furniture from those brands will be far too large for this specific house.

Condition: All items should be considered in good played-with condition. The Arm Chair is warped.
